You're never to old for MarioKart!
Though this version is (partially) in Japanese, it's the same game. No matter your age, MarioKart is a win. Just make sure you give yourself some distance from the tv - old school graphics on high-res screens are trippy, to say the least! Please note that a Japanese cartridge will not fit into an American console without a small bit of hardware modification. With the right tools, it takes about 10 minutes (no rocket science required). There is a helpful step-by-step guide that I can't post the link to, but do a search for N64 US modification. It's on a website known as Guides Archive. We used a regular blowtorch lighter on the plastic and pushed it outward with a piece of metal to make room for the Japanese game. And the game bit can be purchased on Amazon for about $5. Worth it when you compare it to the price of the American game!

Good Price!
Overall a good deal. N64 games have increased in value in the last 10 years and this game can fetch for a pretty high price at game stores and professional retro game websites. We’re talking like upwards of $70-$90. It’s a classic game to have for the console, great way to use for controllers. While future Mario karts improved on control and other mechanics, this game is still as playable as it was back then. This game just screams 90’s nostalgia.

Awesome CIB Japanese Mario Kart
This game is cool. Yeah some of the options and track names are in Japanese, but you can play it all the same. Not to mention the cool art work! Its neat to see the Japanese box and instructions. You can just swap the back plate and play this in your North American N64.
